2022 Toyota Tundra Trim Highlights
While the redesigned, 2022 Toyota Tundra is a serious truck ready to tackle all challenges, there are still a variety of trims available, ensuring that you can find the right truck for your own unique, individual needs. Explore the 2022 Toyota Tundra here, or take a closer look at the different trim options available below.
Design highlights
While the individual trim options all differ in a variety of ways—from upgraded exterior and interior details, to different cab configurations or drivetrains—they all share a few important distinctions that make the 2022 Tundra a tough as nails option.
Fully boxed ladder frame
Every 2022 Toyota Tundra is designed with a fully boxed ladder frame, providing exceptional strength and rigidity—the latter of which results in impressive handling over even the toughest terrain. Limited and Platinum trims of the Tundra actually have the cab mounted to the frame via hydraulic cab mounts, providing peerless comfort in the pickup segment.
Composite bed
An all-new, high-strength Sheet-Molded Compound (SMC) lays the foundation for the 2022 Tundra’s truck bed, providing unparalleled protection against every dent and ding, rust, and more. Meaning you won’t have to baby your Tundra for it to stay looking amazing for years to come.
Power vertical rear window
A fixture on Toyota trucks, the power vertical rear glass window means you’re always just a button press away from access to your truck bed; truly a breath of fresh air.
Toyota Tundra dimensions
The 2022 Toyota Tundra offers a huge variety of choice when it comes to picking the proper pickup for your purpose, starting with 3 different bed lengths to choose from, spread out over 6 different grades. Add in a choice between a 4x2 or a 4x4 powertrain, and you can dial in the perfect truck for your needs.
Cab options
There are two cab options available for the 2022 Tundra, the standard Double Cab or the CrewMax cab. The former offers two full-size front doors along with two smaller rear doors, while the latter provides all passengers easy access courtesy of four full-size doors for easy access.
Bed lengths
Offering three different bed lengths, you can choose between a 5.5-foot, 6.5-foot, or 8.1-foot truck bed. While the 5.5- and 6.5-foot beds result in an overall length of 228.9 inches for the 2022 Tundra, a step up to the 8.1-foot bed stretches this Toyota truck’s overall length to 247.8 inches. Regardless of length, the high-strength Sheet-Molded Compound bed of the Tundra will be 66.4-inches wide with a depth of 22.2 inches—more than enough space to take advantage of your 1,940 lb max payload capacity!
Toyota Tundra trim hierarchy
Tundra SR
Offered in both 4x2 and 4x4 options, as well as in both a Double Cab and CrewMax configuration, the SR trim is the perfect introduction to the 2022 Tundra lineup. Starting as low as $44,990, the Tundra SR offers all of the performance capabilities you could ask for courtesy of its 3.5-litre Twin Turbo i-FORCE V6 engine, fully boxed ladder frame, integrated towing package, and of course, standard Toyota Safety Sense 2.5. While some may not expect much from the base trim level of a pickup, the 2022 Toyota Tundra delivers on all fronts.
Tundra SR5
Also offered in the full complement of available configurations, the SR5 looks to build off of the impressive performance of the SR trim thanks to mechanical upgrades like Drive Mode Select, Hill Start Assist Control, and LED lighting including headlamps and fog lamps, while interior upgrades like heated, 8-way power adjustable Softex Leather front seats help make justifying the $52,490 starting price an easy exercise. The 4x4 version of the SR5 trim also offers your first glance at a choice of impressive TRD (Toyota Racing Development) options like the TRD Sport Package or TRD Off Road Package.
Tundra Limited
Starting at just $60,490, the 2022 Toyota Tundra Limited just keeps building off of the trims that came before it, adding amenities like a power slide and tilt moonroof, heated and ventilated Softex front seats, along with a wireless phone charger. In terms of added equipment, the Limited offers Downhill Assist and Multi-Terrain Select features, while 20-inch alloy wheels give it a more authoritative stance and commanding appearance. Bumping the starting price up to $63,490 is the Limited TRD Off Road Package, adding in 18-inch off-road alloy wheels, a special TRD heated steering wheel, Multi Terrain View Monitor, unique front grille, CRAWL Control, locking rear differential, and TRD Off Road shock absorbers, for an even more capable off-road ride.
Tundra Platinum
Starting at $72,990 and only offered in the CrewMax configuration, the 2022 Toyota Tundra Platinum trim is easily the best equipped and most luxurious offering in the 2022 Tundra lineup. Enjoy amenities such as Toyota Assistant and a 14-inch HD touchscreen display, including the incredibly convenient Trailer Backup Guide with Straight Path Assist feature, along with a Digital Rearview Mirror, Panoramic View Monitor, ambient lighting, and active noise control. The heated and ventilated front and rear seats of the Platinum trim are also dressed in buttery Semi Aniline leather, providing comfort and class well beyond the Tundra Platinum’s price tag.
