Calgary Motor Dealers Charitable Foundation Donates $100k To Local Domestic Violence Shelter For Women

CALGARY MOTOR DEALERS CHARITABLE FOUNDATION DONATES $100K TO LOCAL DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SHELTER FOR WOMEN

The Calgary Motor Dealers Charitable Foundation (CMDCF) is extremely proud to announce a significant donation of $100,000 to Discovery House Family Violence Prevention Society.

Discovery House is a social profit organization providing a continuum of care to women and their children fleeing domestic violence.

These funds from the CMDCF were raised from the 2020 Vehicles and Violins Gala held on March 10/20 that kicked off the 2020 Calgary International Auto & Truck show. Sponsors, supporters and Dealer Members all played an integral role in being able to accomplish this. Despite the early closure of the Calgary International Auto & Truck show halfway through its run due to concerns around COVID-19, the CMDCF and the dealer members have maintained their commitment to Discovery House to further the work this organization is doing in our community.

The CMDCF is committed to providing Calgary and area charities and educational institutions the opportunity to enhance the community on behalf of the Calgary Motor Dealers Association and its Dealer Members.

Like many businesses, Calgary automotive dealerships are enduring tough times but they recognize their vital role as an essential service in ensuring the continuity of the service they provide remains at the highest level. They recognize their role in ensuring that the vehicles on the road are safe. They appreciate that the many essential workers need to be able to go back and forth to their jobs and they need to be able to rely on their vehicles. Calgary automotive dealerships are doing this while at the same time scaling back and taking every precautionary measure to maintain the health and safety of their customers and employees,

This donation by the CMDCF to Discovery House further demonstrates their commitment to continue to serve their community and be a part of meeting the needs of fellow Calgarians.
